Are you getting enough magnesium?

Are you getting enough magnesium?

We all need magnesium every day. Our body uses it for over 800 cellular functions.   And yet most of us don’t get enough through our diet alone.

It’s recommended that women get 320mg a day of magnesium and 400mg a day for men.  Some researchers think these levels are actually too low and 500mg a day may be needed for optimal health.  And people who exercise a lot or are really deficient may need even more – up to 1000mg daily.

You can find out more about this amazing mineral and the roles it plays in our body on our blog post all about magnesium .

Foods such as spinach, asparagus, figs, avocado, banana, nuts and seeds, chickpeas, black beans, kidney beans, fatty fish such as salmon, and dark chocolate are high in magnesium.  However, much of our soils are magnesium deficient, which means fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds grown in those areas will not have adequate levels.

Drinking coffee or alcohol can deplete your levels of this vital nutrient.  So can stress and anxiety.

So for most of us, using some kind of magnesium supplement is vital for our health and well-being.

We’ve created a range of magnesium creams and a spray to help you boost your magnesium levels.  Magnesium is best absorbed through the skin and one teaspoon of our mag products is around 221mg of magnesium content.
